The
Irish Soldiers Relief Society
supporting
the recreated 28th Massachusetts Volunteer Infantry is
a civilian reenacting organization known as the Irish Soldiers Relief
Society (ISRS).
The ladies and gentlemen of the ISRS work to educate the public by
portraying, as accurately as possible, the life and times of civilians
during the American Civil War. They also provide support from "the
home
front" for the soldiers of the 28th Massachusetts, some of whom are the
husbands, sons or significant others of ISRS members.
The Irish Soldiers Relief Society is affiliated nationally
with the Mifflin Guard Civilians.
If you would like to learn
more about the ISRS or reenacting with the group, simply send
a dispatch to our civilian
coordinator and she will reply directly within a day or two.
